These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the LaptopChipLevel website at https://laptopchiplevel.com and any repair services provided by LaptopChipLevel ("we", "us"). By using our website or requesting our services, you agree to these terms.
LaptopChipLevel provides hardware diagnostic and repair services for laptops, MacBooks, and desktop computers. Our services include but are not limited to: component-level motherboard diagnostics and repair, thermal servicing, screen and keyboard replacement, battery and charging fault assessment, and data access troubleshooting.
All services are provided from our workshop at 3 Minchery Rd, Littlemore, Oxford OX4 4YY, United Kingdom.
A diagnostic assessment involves our technicians physically examining and testing the device to identify the fault. Diagnostics are investigative — they establish what has failed and what repair options exist, but do not constitute a commitment to a specific repair outcome.
We will not begin any repair work without first providing you with our findings and obtaining your explicit consent to proceed. You are under no obligation to authorise a repair following a diagnostic assessment.
Complex faults, particularly on liquid-damaged devices, may involve multiple failure points that only become apparent progressively during the diagnostic or repair process. We will notify you of any newly discovered issues before proceeding with additional work.
We undertake all repair work with reasonable care and skill, using appropriate equipment and components. However, we cannot guarantee that every fault is repairable. Some faults — particularly those involving unavailable proprietary components, severely damaged PCBs, or chips that have sustained permanent internal damage — may not be repairable regardless of the skill and effort applied.
We will communicate realistic expectations before any work begins. If a repair cannot be completed as scoped, we will explain why and discuss available alternatives.
We use appropriate replacement components sourced from reputable suppliers. Where we have a choice between original-specification and compatible components, we will discuss this with you before proceeding. We do not use components we believe to be counterfeit or of unacceptable quality.
We provide estimated timescales where possible, but these are estimates rather than contractual commitments. Timescales may be affected by the need to source specialist components, the discovery of additional fault complexity, or operational capacity at the time. We will keep you informed of any significant changes to expected completion dates.
You are responsible for backing up any data stored on a device before it is submitted to us for repair. While we take reasonable care to avoid data loss during repair work, hardware repair carries an inherent risk that data may become inaccessible. We accept no liability for data loss occurring in the course of a repair that you have authorised.
You are responsible for providing accurate information about the device and its symptoms. Inaccurate information may affect the diagnostic process and the outcome of any repair.
By submitting a device for repair, you confirm that you are the owner or have the authorisation of the owner to submit the device for service. We reserve the right to decline to service a device where ownership is unclear.
Devices must be collected within 30 days of notification that the repair is complete or that we are unable to complete the repair. After 30 days, we may apply a storage charge. Uncollected devices held for more than 90 days following notification may be disposed of in accordance with applicable law, with any proceeds applied against outstanding charges.
Payment is due upon collection of the device and on completion of the agreed work. We accept card and bank transfer. A diagnostic fee may apply where work does not proceed to repair. Please see our Refund Policy for information about refunds and disputes.
Our liability to you in connection with any repair service is limited to the cost of that service. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of business, lost data, or costs incurred by device downtime, except where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter for which liability cannot be excluded under UK law.
